GERTZEN KRANE & TRANSPORTE
MAMMOET
H. VINK & ZONEN BV
The wind at their
back New investment in
more than 90 axles Vink’s showpiece:
Euro 3+5
For Gertzen Krane & Transport GmbH from
Kluse (D) three new 3-axle Super Wing
Carriers (SWC) were ready to be collected
in Wijchen towards the end of March. This
brings the total of SWC’s in the fleet Gertzen
to six units, able to carry two complete sets of
70m long rotor blades. Mammoet are worldwide market leaders
in heavy lifting and the transport of ultra-
heavy and complex loads. The trucks and
trailers of Mammoet are mainly used
to carry their own equipment. For the
transport of crane sections and ballast
Mammoet has placed an order with
Nooteboom for the delivery of semi-trailers
with more than 90 axles in total. The
trailers are going to Mammoet Netherlands,
Mammoet UK and Mammoet Russia. The
specifications of the vehicles were very
carefully selected so that they can also
be used in other countries. The delivery
includes 6-axle ballast trailers, hydraulically
steered semi low-loaders in various
configurations and one Euro low-loader.
The semi low-loaders will not only be used
for the transport of crane sections and
ballast, but also for other heavy equipment
such as SPMT’s. Over the past few months five new Nooteboom
semi-trailers were delivered to Vink in
Barneveld. Besides three Teletrailers and a
4-axle semi lowloader with wheel wells, the
one that catches the eye most is the mighty
Euro-142-35 (ICP). Wilfred de Rijk: ‘We have
been a customer of Nooteboom for years and
we are extremely satisfied with the trailers
of and our association with Nooteboom. An
important consideration when deciding to buy
the Euro 3+5 was the fact that it is simple to
couple/uncouple the Interdolly and that the
trailer is extremely user-friendly. We only drive
with an Interdolly 25% of the time. We have
around 85 towing units in our fleet and even
more trailers, but this Euro-142-35 (ICP) is
definitely the showpiece in our fleet.’
Gertzen took the first set of 3 Super Wing
Carriers into service in 2013. The Super
Wing Carrier is an important innovation of
Nooteboom for the transport of rotor blades
and the SWC perfectly meets the needs of
the specialist windmill transport operators.
With this unique concept Nooteboom is the
European market leader in semi-trailers for
the transport of rotor blades. In addition
to the Super Wing Carriers, the fleet of
Gertzen also includes several 4-axle Quatro
Teletrailers, a MCO-PX semi low-loader and
a MWT Mega Windmill Transporter.
Vink celebrate their 90th birthday this year
and is well-known in Barneveld and the
surrounding area. The transport department is
only one part of their multifaceted company.
Vink is also active in waste processing,
general contracting, trade in natural stone and
installation of tank systems.
CADZOW HEAVY HAULAGE
Manoovr: the flexible solution
Cadzow Heavy Haulage from Blantyre in Scotland has within a period of 60 years grown
to become one of the largest and foremost specialists in abnormal transport in the UK. It
started simple: James McCauley Sr. bought in 1957 his first 2-tonne Morris truck. It was his
dream to build a family business. And he succeeded, because Cadzow is a company with a
solid reputation. In 2017 Cadzow invests in the latest equipment. In recent years Cadzow
has bought various Nooteboom semi-trailers, including a Manoovr semi low-loader that
was delivered in April this year. Cadzow opted for the 8-axle configuration. By removing
the 2-axle Multidolly the semi low-loader can easily be converted into a 6-axle semi-trailer.
The length of the load floor can be extended to 34 metres. The new Manoovr offers Cadzow
a flexible solution for all kinds of different loads.
