Service Centre Polcar
A SOLUTION FOR EVERY PROBLEM
Polcar is based in Poczesna, around 65 km north of Katowice. The own-
er, Rafal Kopaczewski, started his company in a small way. Rafal: ‘Our
company is located very close to the E75, the main road from Katowice
to Warsaw. My first job was to carry out repairs on stranded cars along
the E 75. With a toolbox I set off on my bike to solve problems. In
1994 we started a workshop with two bays and a small storeroom for
parts. We extended the premises in several steps and in 2015 we built a
completely new workshop across the road. The new location was built
with the development of new products in mind, such as new electronic
steering systems, electric cars and HGV’s running on LPG.’
SPECIALIST IN PNEUMATICS AND HYDRAULICS
Rafal: ‘In 1998 our company was appointed as the first official Wabco
dealer in Poland. We could then specialise further in hydraulics,
pneumatics and electronic systems. That experience stands us in good
stead when providing service and maintenance for Nooteboom trailers.
Working together with Nooteboom is a pleasure. Whenever we call them
– for parts or technical information – we always get a quick response.
For repairs on the road or in the customer’s own workshop we have a
service van. For standard repairs we don’t travel further than 200 km
from Poczesna, but if it’s an emergency we may go a bit further too. In
order to get to know the Nooteboom trailers better I had extensive train-
ing in the Netherlands.’
THE FUTURE
Rafal: ‘Over the last few years Polcar has specialised in solving problems
concerning electronic systems, hydraulics and pneumatics for trucks and
trailers. We are not only the service partner for Nooteboom, but also for

several other part suppliers in the truck and trailer sector such as
BPW and Wabco. With that knowledge we sometimes come up with
our own solutions for the problems we encounter in our workshop.
One of those solutions is an app on a smartphone that we use to
perform a diagnosis of a trailer. We hope to work together with
Nooteboom for many years to come because Nooteboom delivers
trailers with top-quality engineering. This fits in perfectly with our
strategy for the coming years.’
