TRANSPORT SEGMENTS
BACK IN TIME FIRST Erwin : “ I started out as driver for a furniture manufacturer . That was heavy work , because in those days unloading by hand was common practice . After a few years I had saved up enough to buy my own truck . Not a new one of course , but with my seven-year old truck I was bold enough to take the step to become a self-employed entrepreneur .”
MORE STAFF Erwin : “ Growth was slow at first , but in 2002 we began driving for an access platform hire company . That was a huge change . In 2001 the European community changed the regulations for working at height . From one moment to the next nobody was allowed to work on a ladder any more . Access platforms hire companies bought dozens of machines and we were one of the first companies that specialised in the transport of access platforms . Due to the extension of the activities I needed a partner to join the company . Kristof Peysmans has been co-owner of All Exeptional since 2004 . His experience in selling machinery definitely benefitted All Exeptional .”
MORE ACCESS PLATFORMS Erwin : “ For a number of years we hardly had any competitors in the transport of access platforms . We grew with our customers and for our largest customer we currently drive more than 15 combinations every day . Because we are specialists we are flexible in our work . Our vehicles turn up in every corner of Belgium and a large part of northern France as well . So it is not a problem if we suddenly have to pick up an extra access platform somewhere .”
ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT NOOTEBOOM ? Erwin : “ We bought our first Nooteboom trailer in 2006 and number fifty was on display at the Matexpo in 2017 . Nearly all our trailers have hydraulic ramps and a smaller number have a height-adjustable load floor . We use the ramps several times a day . With other makes the ramps

often work loose after a year or so . We don ’ t have rattling ramps on our Nooteboom trailers . Since we have a few trailers of other makes too we are well able to compare . With Nooteboom we have never found any cracks in the chassis . I have also come across trailers that had to be welded before every inspection . Nooteboom trailers are maintenance-friendly and their residual value is very good . This means the running costs are low . I am also extremely satisfied with the service and the speedy parts service . In other respects , e . g . the conservation and electrical system , the quality has improved during the past few years . To sum up : we are going to replace a number of trailers soon and we will have a strong preference for Nooteboom because they have a well-thought-out trailer programme for the access platform segment .” ■
