1 WHO IS VILLE SILVASTI?
I am a 41-year old transport entrepreneur and I am convinced
that many improvements can be made in the special transport
sector.
2 WHO HAS HAD THE GREATEST IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE?
From a very early age I used to accompany my father and he
taught me everything there is to know about transport. He sold
his transport company in 1988 and I started my own business
in 2002. Later on I took over my father’s former company again.
3 IN WHICH YEAR DID YOU OBTAIN YOUR HGV LICENCE?
In 1998 I got my driving licence and I needed it urgently
because I used to drive myself when our company was still
small.
4 DO YOU HAVE A PASSION FOR ONE PARTICULAR
BRAND?

I don’t have a passion for one particular make of truck, because
the technique of the various truck brands is becoming more
and more similar. I have more passion for specialist trailers,
because they earn us our money. For investments in trailers
with a load capacity of up to 100 tonnes I prefer Nooteboom.
5 WHICH COMPANY IN THE TRANSPORT SECTOR SERVED
AS AN EXAMPLE FOR YOU?
None of them, because I believe we have to set an example
ourselves. I try to always be a step ahead of the competition.
